    Description

Vintage Farberware Open Hearth Countertop Grill / Broiler.  First of all, this vintage grill/broiler works - please see final photo.  Overall this unit is in good condition but with some signs of use and wear, such as some minor residue in hard-to-clean places, including on the edge of the heating element - see next-to-last photo (the heating element is NOT immersible so hence harder to clean), some minor scuff marks on the stainless steel main pan, some minor scuff marks and tarnishing on the aluminum drip tray and a minor bend in the receptacle through which the heating element attaches - see photo 10 (this does not seem to impact the functionality of the unit).  The usable cooktop surface measures approximately 12" x 8 1/2" and overall the unit is approximately 8 1/4" high.  Please note that when I found this unit, it was missing 2 of its rubber feet and the other 2 were cracked; I replaced the rubber feet with brand-new white ones.  While I cannot date it definitively, this unit appears to be an early model of the Open Hearth grill/broiler: the UL logo appears on the right-hand side of the model number rather than the left-hand side, it still says "Patents Pending," it lists the manufacturer as S.W. Farber Inc., New York, N.Y., with no zip code and no notation of Farber being a division/subsidiary of another company (Farber was bought and sold a few times) and, finally, the power is listed as 1100 W / 115 V (most of the others that I have seen are 1175 W / 120 V).  The Farberware model number is 440.
We're not professional sellers/dealers.  We just enjoying going to thrift stores, garage and estate sales, flea markets, etc., and rescuing cute vintage stuff.  Now that we've rescued a few too many things, it's time to start sharing some of our finds with you.  We clean up our finds as best we can without damaging them.  If you have any questions about an item, please ask and we'll do our best to answer them.  If there are any issues with your item when you receive it, please contact us first before contacting eBay or leaving negative/neutral feedback to see if we can make it right.
We use the calculated shipping method (unless otherwise specified) so eBay gives an estimate of the cost from our zip code in Southern California to yours.
Please note that you may select from a variety of shipping options, including FedEx Smart Post and USPS Priority Mail.
If you happen to live in the Coachella Valley, then local pickup is an option as well.
Items come from a smoke-free environment but we do have pets if that is a major issue for you.
